MARTIN INTERNATIONALE SPEDITION

Your freight forwarder for international Armenia transports

How do you organise a smooth and plannable transport to Armenia?

A plannable transport to Armenia succeeds when every stage is clearly prepared and a freight forwarder for Armenia reliably supervises the route. That is exactly what we offer: a well-coordinated partner network, fast response times, and regularly supervised Armenia transports so that your goods arrive in Armenia without delays and without detours.

For larger freight, we organise direct machinery transports to Armenia or other full truckloads that run to the recipient without reloading. Smaller shipments are consolidated into economical part loads – from pallet shipping to Armenia to single-pallet deliveries – so that your Armenia transports remain transparent and well plannable. Truck transports to Armenia are particularly popular as they are flexible and safely move machinery, equipment, or industrial goods.

For time-critical projects, we deploy an express vehicle exclusively for your cargo. For heavy or oversized goods, we take over the full planning including permits, route organisation, and on-site coordination. Our logistics for Armenia deliver clear processes and reliable information so that your shipment arrives reliably and as planned.

Armenia transports and logistics – briefly explained

Reliable forwarders for transports to Armenia can be recognised by their experience with Caucasus routes, stable partner networks and a clearly structured handling process for third-country transports. Important quality markers are transparent transit times, secure document handling, traceable price structures and references in Eastern Europe/the Caucasus.
Many international forwarders offer Armenia traffic, but those particularly suited are providers that regularly run this relation and command the various routes via Türkiye or the Black Sea. Companies like ours also serve transport lanes to Armenia without prominently advertising the fact – what matters is the provider’s actual operational experience.

The costs of transports to Armenia depend on several factors: mode of transport (FTL/LTL), volume, weight, distance, transit route and seasonal demand. There are also typical additional costs such as tolls, transit fees, customs clearance, insurance or demurrage.
Full truck loads can usually be calculated quite stably, while part loads vary depending on network, trans-shipment points and load factor. As Armenia is a third country and several border and transit processes have to be passed, forwarders almost always produce individual quotations. Exact dimensions, weights and the nature of the goods are needed for a realistic cost estimate.

The most frequent mode of transport for Armenia is road traffic, as it allows flexible collection, door-to-door deliveries and regular departures. Full truck loads are suitable for larger or high-value goods, while part loads (LTL) and general cargo make economic sense for smaller quantities.
For particularly urgent or valuable shipments, air freight is an option – for example via the airports of Yerevan or Gyumri. Combined transports are also possible, such as truck + ferry across the Black Sea. The choice depends on transit time, budget, type of goods and the preferred transit route.

For export to Armenia, complete and correct export documents are required. These include:

  • commercial invoice
  • packing list
  • customs tariff numbers (HS codes)
  • export declaration (via ATLAS)
  • CMR consignment note
  • proofs of origin or certificates (depending on the goods)
As Armenia does not belong to the EU, transit papers such as the T1 are regularly required, particularly when passing through non-EU countries. For certain goods, additional technical paperwork or conformity certificates may be necessary. Error-free documentation is decisive to avoid delays at borders and import points.

The transit time depends heavily on route, mode of transport, season and border formalities. Common time corridors are:

  • Full truck load (FTL): approx. 8–15 working days
  • Part load (LTL): approx. 12–20 working days
  • Air freight: usually 1–4 days depending on departure point
The most frequent land routes run via Türkiye or via a combination of Balkans–Türkiye–Georgia. Black-Sea combinations via Romania or Bulgaria are also possible. Border waiting times, weather conditions or transit processes can influence the transit time, which is why forwarders usually work with flexible corridors.

Customs clearance takes place in two steps: export in the EU and import in Armenia. For export, goods must be correctly described, classified and declared (commercial invoice, HS codes, packing list, export declaration). For transit countries, a T1 transit procedure is often used to accompany the goods to the Armenian border.
In Armenia, national customs regulations apply that may, depending on goods category, require additional evidence or permits. Forwarders typically take on the issuance and review of all documents, coordinate handover at customs offices and ensure all paperwork is complete. Careful preparation is essential, as incorrect or incomplete information leads to delays or additional costs.

Groupage transports to Armenia are offered by freight forwarders that operate functioning consolidation and trans-shipment structures. Such providers gather smaller shipments at EU hubs, bundle them onto the main leg and distribute them via partner networks in Armenia.
In addition to larger networks, specialised mid-sized companies also offer groupage to Armenia – including firms like ours. The decisive factor is that the carrier operates reliable trans-shipment points, stable departure rhythms and dependable on-site partners, so that small shipments reach their destination without major delays.

Online booking is usually done via an enquiry form or a digital booking tool of the respective forwarder. All relevant shipment data are entered there: dimensions, weights, type of packaging, pickup location, delivery address, goods description and the desired timeframe.
An Armenia transport enquiry can also be submitted via the enquiry form on our website – discreetly and without promotional emphasis.
Once the data are submitted, forwarders examine the available routes, calculate costs and prepare an individual quote. After approval, transport planning follows, including vehicle dispatch, document preparation and customs preparation.
