Sea-freight transit time from Hamburg to New York is approximately 10–14 days, to Houston approximately 14–18 days and to Los Angeles approximately 20–25 days (via the Suez Canal). By air freight from Frankfurt (FRA) to the USA the transit time is approximately 2–3 working days.
Exports to the USA are subject to control by CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection). For shipments above USD 2,500 a formal import declaration (‘Formal Entry’) is required. For dual-use goods, additional US export control regulations (EAR/ITAR) apply. MARTIN Spedition takes on complete customs clearance including export paperwork, customs tariff review (HTS code) and alignment with US authorities.
For all sea-freight shipments to the USA, an ISF 10+2 declaration must be submitted to CBP at least 24 hours before loading. MARTIN Spedition issues and submits this declaration as part of the full customs service.

We recommend a customs tariff review before ordering, in order to calculate the correct customs burden and use possible free-trade agreements (e.g. with proofs of origin).
