MARTIN INTERNATIONALE SPEDITION

Your freight forwarder for international Oman transports

AIR FREIGHT TO OMAN – reliable, flexible, industry-specific
Oman connects its ports and airports into a growing trade network that closely links Europe with the Gulf region. With our air freight solutions, your shipments regularly reach Muscat (MCT) and Salalah (SLL), which serve as important nodes for international freight traffic.

We take over all tasks from collection to final loading: export documents, security checks, AWB issuance, and real-time tracking. Whether express shipments, temperature-controlled freight, or consolidated loadings for smaller volumes – every shipment is individually managed, transparently calculated, and reliably supervised. This way we create stability even on time-critical projects.

ROAD FREIGHT TO OMAN – stable, cross-border, field-tested
Road transports to Oman require careful planning and well-coordinated partners along the routes through the Gulf region. We organise full truckloads (FTL), part loads (LTL), and temperature-controlled transports to the industrial and commercial centres of Muscat and Salalah. Heavy or large-dimensioned goods can also be moved safely.

Our teams take over the entire coordination: from routing through preparation of transport documents to customs handling. Every road freight shipment is individually supervised, legally documented, and executed on schedule – for a smooth connection between Europe and Oman.

Oman transports and logistics – briefly explained

Transports to Oman are carried out predominantly by sea freight via the ports of Sohar, Salalah or Muscat and by air freight for urgent shipments. While air freight needs only a few days, sea freight ranges over several weeks depending on the place of dispatch. The decisive factor, however, is the handling at the port, as trans-shipments and releases influence the actual transit time.

For Oman, a commercial invoice, packing list and freight paperwork are mandatory. In addition, the authorities often require very detailed product descriptions, particularly for technical or industrial items. Depending on the goods, additional certificates or import releases may be required. Unclear or overly general information leads to delays particularly often here.

Oman places great value on compliance with import standards, particularly for machinery, electronics and regulated products. Some goods require prior permission or must meet certain technical standards. Before shipment it should therefore be examined precisely whether additional requirements exist, in order to avoid problems on import.

Customs clearance is carried out digitally via the Omani authorities and is in principle efficiently organised. After submission of paperwork, the goods are assessed and may be spot-checked. Delays usually arise when documents are incomplete or the goods description is not unambiguous. Clean preparation significantly speeds up the process.

Oman is part of the GCC area, which is why a customs rate of about 5 per cent applies to many goods. However, there are deviations depending on product category and additional fees. For a precise calculation, the correct classification of the goods is decisive.

A continuous transport is particularly useful in Oman, as several logistical interfaces mesh together. From pre-carriage through sea transport to delivery inland, central management ensures more efficiency and fewer delays.

Tracking is highly transparent up to arrival at the port or airport. Status updates remain available afterwards depending on the chosen transport solution. With professional handling, the entire process remains easy to follow.

Typical is stable infrastructure combined with clear import rules. Transports can be planned well as long as documents are prepared correctly. Most delays do not arise in transport but during import handling.
